Many people believed this to the point that they had no fear to be on the ship, even in the winter. Unfortunately, she never lived up to the expectation. Some reasons she sunk was because it did not have Ice Patrol, enough lifeboats, or a reliable radio system. On April 10, 1912, the Titanic sailed into open waters headed from Southampton Ireland, to Western New York. It carried over 2,000 people who had all the faith in the world that she would get them to their destination. They had no idea how wrong they were. April 14, just 4 days later, the Titanic struck an iceberg. The Captain, Edward Smith, was drunk and asleep in his cabin that night. There was no one in the entire area to call for help. They were on their own, with limited lifeboats and definitely not much time to get enough people on board. Because of the limited life boats and a poor radio system, 1,503 people perished that day. Since this new law, ships now have to maintain constant communication with coastal ships so, that the ship is not lost or sunk like the Titanic was sunk. Even though the Titanic had its downfalls, it lets us know how important it is for ships to be prepared. If the Titanic was properly prepared with Ice Patrol, sufficient lifeboats, and Radio Control, there was a chance more people would have made it out alive. I can now get aboard a cruise ship without the fear of sinking because of the updated rules and procedures. This gives me great comfort on cruise ships because I know everyone will have my back, and they will have a reliable system.

After she later ate a piece of fawn so tender that she was able to eat the bones as well as the flesh, Rowlandson relied upon her faith and credited God for making the normally detestable food delicious to her. She portrays the food as a gift from God when she states, â€Å"I would tell the world what a blessing the Lord gave to such mean food† (Rowlandon 76).
